All Employment Background Checks Are Not The Same
As a Human Resources professional, you already know that you must stay compliant with all Federal and State employment laws including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). But did you know that not all criminal background checks being offered in the marketplace as employment screening tools are FCRA compliant? According to the FTC, background checks that rely only on databases compiled from "stored data" in public criminal records are not compliant and should not be used for hiring purposes.

County Criminal Records Search (FCRA Compliant)
Available in all 50 states and accessed via the Clerk of Courts Office in the appropriate jurisdiction this criminal background search includes felony and misdemeanor records recorded at the county level. These records are obtained from the custodian of records, current as of the date searched, FCRA compliant and traceable to the source of origination. Our field agents located throughout the United States search these records (No databases are used).
Statewide Criminal Records Search (FCRA Compliant)
Accessed via the state police or department of justice. These records are obtained from the custodian of records, current as of the date searched, FCRA compliant and traceable to the source of origination (Not available in all states, special forms and or fingerprints may be required).
Federal Criminal Records Search (FCRA Compliant)
Accessed at the US District Court in the appropriate region. These records are obtained from the custodian of records, current as of the date searched, FCRA compliant and traceable to the source of origination. Our field agents located throughout the United States search these records. Federal Civil and US Bankruptcy court searches are also available.
